Gear offers and discounts

Joining a club is the best way of trying out different bits of equipment to help you decide on the right thing for you before you make an expensive purchase. Many clubs do have notice boards or they email round members when individuals want to sell their kit. Once you’re a member it’s a great way to come across cheap gear.

If you want to pick up climbing gear it is worth going along to your local climbing wall as there is usually second hand kit for sale on their noticeboards.

If you are in to cycling but have no bike you could consider buying a refurbished bike from the Bike Rescue Project based in York. They collect old bikes and bits of bikes, and lovingly rebuild them into working machines which are sold at reasonable cost with a 3 month warrenty. You can find out more on the Bike Rescue website, or contact them on 01904 733789.
