Enforcement of planning regulations
The Planning Service is responsible for enforcement of planning regulations, listed building regulations and investigating breaches of planning control, see planning enforcement advice. Any complaint that is received will be passed to the Enforcement Officer Team. Officers will examine every complaint to determine if any action is needed and then follow this through to a resolution.
Every complaint will be recorded and each complainant will be advised of the outcome of the enquiries and the reason behind that outcome. Whilst every complaint is treated as confidential it may be that the case could result in court action and evidence may need to be collected for that purpose.
If you wish to report any breach of planning control or something that you think is contrary to planning regulations then you should contact the Planning Service (Craven area - South Team - 01969 652350 / Richmondshire and South Lakeland areas - North Team - 01969 652349). Alternatively you can submit your report online using our enforcement report form.
You can use the search facility below to view enforcement notices served in the last five years.
The search facility is updated daily between 4.30pm and 5.30pm and its use may be limited between these times.
