Supplementary planning guidance
Design Guide
The Authority's Design Guide was adopted as supplementary planning guidance in 2002. It has been written for architects, professional agents and others who are planning to carry out building works to non-agricultural buildings in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This Guide sets out the design principles that the Authority is looking for in terms of the appearance of new buildings. (This Guide is currently being reviewed).
Farm Buildings Design Guide
The Farm Buildings Design Guide (May 2007) is intended to stimulate good design, which minimises adverse visual impact, yet produces agricultural buildings whose form adequately serves their function.
A Guide to Energy Production in the Yorkshire Dales National Park for developers and householders
The purpose of the Guide to Energy Production in the Yorkshire Dales National Park is to ensure that appropriate renewable energy developments can be supported within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It was adopted as a supplementary planning document by resolution of the Authority on 31 May 2011, in support of policies in the 'Yorkshire Dales Local Plan'. It sets out in more detail how they will be applied in practice.
Any person aggrieved by the document may make a claim for judicial review to the High Court and that any such claim must be made promptly and in any event not later than three months after the day on which the document was adopted.
