Launch of the Friends of the Three Project

The Friends of the Three Peaks was launched at a special event on 21 August 2009. See photos of the event on our Facebook fan page.

The launch also involved three groups of walkers making separate ascents of Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside.

The walkers who made the ascent of Whernside feature in a special audio podcast recorded by Outdoor Journalist and Consultant John Manning (www.outdoorsmanning.com). It captures the sights, sounds and atmospheres experienced on the walk as well as conversations with Ranger Services Manager Alan Hulme, Access Ranger Nathan Allen, Pennine Bridleway Technician Cathy Bradley and Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority Member Dr Malcolm Petyt.
