Progress update:

Since the National Park Managment Plan was written, the National Park Authority has worked in partnership with housing associations, district and parish councils to facilitate the completion of  53 affordable houses.

A new Yorkshire Dales National Park Housing Development Plan was published in March 2011. It proposes allocating 33 new sites for housing which would potentially yield 230 new homes. Half of these would be affordable in relation to the national definition in Planning Policy Statement No 3. (Housing). The Plan is expected to be submitted to the Planning Inspectorate in October with formal examination later in 2011 or early 2012.
